Help our Students Gain a Global Perspective

Participation in a study abroad course can be one of the most enriching and satisfying experiences in a student's education at Delaware Tech. Such opportunities help students acquire an international outlook and the skills that provide them with a competitive edge as they enter the job market, pursue higher education, and thrive in a culturally diverse world. By supporting study abroad scholarships, you can help Delaware Tech provide deserving students with this life-changing opportunity.

Many of Delaware Tech's study abroad programs require a student to create a portfolio to be used with a resume showcasing skills they have learned. Programs focus on cultural immersion or an area of study such as nursing, energy management, criminal justice, or engineering. The College offers programs in countries as diverse as Belize, China, Costa Rica, Denmark, Ecuador, France, Russia, Vietnam, and Scotland.

For students who may not be able to study abroad, the College sponsors Global Understanding Workshops to educate students about global cultures and issues. These workshops are free for students and anyone else in the community who would like to attend.

Two Ways You Can Support International Education:

Sponsor a Student: $1,500

By sponsoring a specific student with your donation of $1,500, you'll have the opportunity to:

• Designate which of the courses you would like to support

• Meet your sponsored student at the annual scholarship luncheon in the spring

• Be recognized during the College's annual November Fashion Show in the program and on recognition banners

General Support: $100 - $1,000

Every donation makes a difference. By pooling financial support, the College can offer $1,000 study abroad scholarships to students and pay the costs that enable the Global Understanding on-campus workshops and events to be accessible free of charge. Below are a few of the ways that your support can have a real impact:

$1,000 Cost of a round-trip flight to Istanbul, Paris, or London

$750 Cost to host a traditional African dance group for a free workshop in Georgetown

$500 Cost of a 7-10 day housing stay with a native family in Costa Rica or Belize

$375 Cost of the 3 credit hour tuition for a study abroad course

$250 Cost of an excursion for 10 students to visit The Louvre in Paris

$100 Cost of materials for an on-campus Global Understanding workshop
